Keith Andrew McAllister

Described as the painter’s painter Keith Andrew McAllister raises fundamental questions about the fragility of vanishing species and their environments. Optimising on Anderson Wheeler’s links with remote areas of natural beauty, Keith has embarked on a series of work which marries the techniques of the old European masters with the imagery from the vanishing African wilderness.

Growing up in Zaire (Democratic Republic of Congo) and Kenya, Keith became a student of the natural environment and observing its fragile balance. He then travelled back to Great Britain for schooling and his apprenticeship as a painter which years later lead to his return to Africa as a professional artist.

Whilst working as a photographer for an NGO he returned to the Congo to find refugee camps in the place of his childhood forests and a land in further turmoil. “With human suffering comes the added destruction of the natural world, if the wilderness is to survive it must have a value and be paid for continually. My work is a record of all we can lose, and should afford not to."

Robert Glen is well established as one of the greatest sculptures of African wildlife. He has produced work for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, His Highness the Aga Khan, and former President of Kenya Jomo Kenyatta.

As a committed conservationist Robert now works in Tanzania's Ruaha National Park where he sculpts and sketches in close proximity to the animals he loves.
